I'M SORRY, BUT I QUIT

I'M SORRY, BUT I QUIT.
(The YOU here stands for man)
I quit living that life where the praises of men meant a lot and almost everything to me.
I quit living that life where I did everything to please you irrespective of how I felt.
I quit living that life where i did everything In my power to make you happy not minding if I pleased God or not.
I QUIT. Oh yes I QUIT.
I quit living that life where I didn't care if I was becoming the woman God wanted me to be, but payed more attention to being what you wanted me to be.
I quit living that life where I neglected God for so long in a bit to make sure you've got all my attention and care. And at last, all that was never recognised.
I'm QUITTING, No, I QUIT.
I quit living that life where I ran to God only when I discovered things weren't moving as smooth as it should.
I quit living that life where at the end of the day it will be counted unto me as wasted years.
I quit living that life where I was becoming almost nothing because i tried to make you everything.
I quit living that life where I got carried away by the things of the world and Lost sight of my heavenly treasures.
I quit living that life where you became the primary purpose of my existence and i threw away the ultimate reason and source of life.
I quit living that life where I made the words you speak a healing balm and forgot there Is still balm at Gilead.
I quit living that life where i didn't care if I was still on good terms with my Savior, but did a constant check up to be sure you were still happy with me.
I quit living the life where i took for granted those little things that mean a lot to Christ.
This is the sincere heart cry of a soul set to live for Christ and Christ alone.

GETTING TOO OLD TO BE MARRIED?(Part 1)

Lydia, 29, woke up from sleep. She had the same vision she had been having since she was 16 when she started to pray for the will of God in marriage. With pains in her heart, her mind drifted to the first time she had the dream and shared it with her mother. Her mother had told her that God had special interest in her future marital life. She also rejoiced with her and assured her that she would marry at a ripe age since God had already started speaking to her.

Hadn’t many years passed and she was without a husband? She thought sadly within herself. The vision she had was always that of an old man in white raiment that introduced Himself as her Companion through life assuring her that her marriage was going to be a fulfilment of some plans He had in his heart for a long time. He always told her that her and her husband were going to be a force that will cause His name to be praised.

Lydia’s phone rang.

The caller was Biodun, her longtime friend. She tried to force some smile and clear her throat so that Biodun would not suspect that she had fallen into despair again.

The call ended without Lydia picking up.
As Lydia made ready to go to her prayer room, her phone rang again.

“Hey, Biodun, you are calling early.” Lydia called out hoping her voice sounded cheerful.

“Yeah, I hope you are good. Sorry I haven’t called for some time. I had to deal with some issues.”

“Ah, I’ve been good. I do understand. Hope you are good too.”

“I’ve been well,” she answered cheerfully, “I’m just calling to tell you to er… attend the er… marriage seminar this evening, I promise it’s going to be great…” she tried to convince her friend.

Lydia sighed and was praying that the tears she had been holding back do not fall.

“Biodun,” she said pleading with her voice, “we’ve been through this before you know…”

“Yes, I know but just give it a try, pleaseeee….”

“I’m 29!”

“I know”

“I’ve attended many seminars!”

“I do know that too…”

“Then why do you want me to go to this one? I’m tired of getting my hopes up and watching them come crashing down like a pack of cards…” she lamented still fighting back hot tears.

“I understand your pains but you should never give up on God.”

“I haven’t dear, it’s just that…” she stopped herself.

“I want you to read Exodus 6:9 and then read verse 8. Cheer up girl, I’d send the details to your phone. You have to make it there.” She said and hung up

COURAGEOUS

“You had better paid your rent else you’d be thrown out of this house. I give you just three months. If you don’t get the money by the end of three months…” Shade’s landlord said and stormed out of her house.
It was just 6am when she just started preparing for her morning shift at Jones Hospital where she worked as a nurse. Undaunted by the threatening of her landlord, she continued in her preparations as if nothing had happened, singing her favourite hymn Trust and Obey. She was  assured that her prayers had reached heaven when God reassured her by laying Proverbs 3:5, 6 in her heart.
She decided to walk instead of going to the bus stop to catch a ride. She checked her watch and realized that she would still make it in good time to the hospital.
Her phone rang and she picked up. It was Ruth. Why was she calling? She had never called her. She was even surprised that Ruth had her number.
“Good morning Shade.”
“Good morning Ruth. Hope you had a good rest.”
“Please I’d not be able to make it to the hospital today. I tried to call Dr. Albert but he wasn’t picking up. Do tell him I have some urgent family issues to attend to.”
And she hung up before Shade could say anything else.
Okay, Shade said to herself wondering what the problem really was.
There was real commotion at the reception when Shade appeared. A young girl of about 15 was crying while a man was shouting on the top of his voice. Shade’s roommate, Veronica was trying to explain something to the man who was clearly not listening.
On sighting Shade, relief spread on her face.
“The man wants an abortion for his daughter. She is 6 months pregnant already!”
Shade understood the problem. Veronica refused to carry out the abortion. Not only was it very unsafe for the young lady, Veronica’s faith would not allow her to do it. Ruth would have been more than willing to carry it out if she was around. Ruth’s acceptance to carry out abortions have shielded them but now they had to face the problem squarely.
The man was now approaching her. Father give me strength to say “no”, she prayed silently in her heart.
“I want you to remove that thing from her stomach quickly. I’d give you any money you charge and will forgive her,” he said eying Veronica, “by not suing her if you carry out the abortion.”
I could ask for the money equivalent to the rent and will save myself and Vero from this mess. She thought.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t. It’s too dangerous for the young girl.”
“I’d take full responsibility for whatsoever happens to her. Just get this thing off” he said now pleading. “She was just given admission and will not be admitted if they found out about this… Please…”
“I’m sorry but I’m sure God will do something.” Veronica chipped in.
“You are both Christians?” He asked spitefully and turned himself.
“Let’s go!” He commanded the crying girl.
Two days later, Shade was in the hospital when Dr. Albert called for her. The man, Mr. Thames had sued the hospital for refusing to carry out the abortion. Dr. Albert explained to her that they didn’t have capacity to fight the case for it was not just a fight against the man but also against the government. He handed a termination letter to her and asked her to tell Veronica to see him also.
Veronica’s appointment was also terminated.
And there they were with a court case, a threat from their landlord and jobless. But with solid faith in God.
Veronica and Shade could not afford the services of a lawyer. They had to request for a government attorney at no cost. But nothing seemed to be going in their favour. The case in the court gained much publicity. Many were against them but they were still a few who stood by them.
The two almost reached breaking point. Then a Christian organization, Mission for Christ, picked interest in their case and fought relentlessly for them. On getting to know their other problems, they bought the two a home of their own and gave each of them a job in a Christian hospital.
And that’s how God builds a home for us!
The above fiction is an illustration of the two Hebrew midwives in Exodus chapter 1. They put their lives at risk by saving the male children (Exodus 1:16). For that, God rewarded them Himself: “And it came to pass because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.” (Exodus 1:21).
God promised that “…I will build him a sure house…” (2 Samuel 2:35). This will be because he will be “…a faithful priest that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind…” (2 Samuel 2:35).
Only the courageous can do the will of God. What's your courage level like? Can you do the will of God in the face of challenges? Remember, God blesses you with a home for your courage just like the two Hebrew midwives and guarantees you a sure house if you are courageous enough to be faithful.
Be COURAGEOUS

Rewarding More Commitment in Every Man’s Work

TOPIC: Rewarding More Commitment in Every Man’s Work
Mark 13: 34, Galatians 6:4
POINT 1: Every Mans Appointed Work Under the New Covenant
John 6:28, Philippians 2:12-13, 1 Thessalonians 1:16, 1 Corinthians 3:10, Acts 13:2, 14:23, 2 Timothy 4:5, John 9:4, Matthew 5:14, 1 Corinthians 15:28
Does the spirit of God bear witness in your heart that you are a child of God, that sin has gone out, that grace has come in.  In Philippians it says we are conscious of the one who has saved him, let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Are you born again, do you keep the new birth. Is the foundation of faith that makes us do things. Anything we do if love is not the pivot, center, perimeter then it is useless. The new covenant work does it allow pushing anyone aside because we are working by grace. The new covenant is going out and telling them the word which has saved you. God says separate unto me and give unto me the work I have called unto thee. James had finished his work and Paul did not say I am going to pick up what he didn’t finish, since Paul didn’t do that so also should we not finish. If you are running make sure you run with faith, make sure you run with love.
POINT 2: Edifying Apolitical Wisdom with New Born Consecration
James 3:13, 1 Corinthians 2:4-6, 13, Ecclesiastes 2:3-8, 11, Ezekiel 28:1,5, Exodus 31:3, Ezra 7:10, Job 28:12, 20-21, Luke 21: 18, Acts 6:2,8,10
There is the wisdom of the world that should never be applied in doing the work he has committed into our hands. Wisdom that is too self-centred profited no one. We should not use the wisdom of the world but that which comes from God directly. New Testament work is to evangelize and teach the word.
POINT 3: Earnest Appropriate Watchfulness Over the New Found Commission
Mark 13:33, Matthew 24:37, Luke 12:39, Songs of Solomon 1:6, Isaiah 6:1
If you look at ministries around us, they are like how will we have enough money for this and that but Jesus warns against that. We should be reading for the coming of the Son of Man. I pray that you, your family and the church will be watchful. The fire coming from God will burn every chaff that is not meant to be in your life. The people in the early church made themselves available for the word so lets us avail ourselves going everywhere. We are not going back home we are going to the street we are going everywhere we are going to accomplish the mission of the Lord. What are we telling the Lord, here am I save me.

GLEANS - THE FUTILITY OF HOPE WITHOUT HOLINESS

TOPIC: THE FUTILITY OF HOPE WITHOUT HOLINESS

Keeping the old landmark is a channel to making it to heaven at the last days no matter how fervent The Foundation and Doctrine of the Master Land Mark

·        Falsehood and danger of Morden Days liars

·        Faithfulness of Disciple with Ministerial Loyalty

POINT 1: THE FOUNDATION AND DOCTRINE OF THE MASTER LAND MARK

Luke 6:47 Luke.16:18-20 Luke 6:47-50 Mat.28:18-20 John 8:30-33

Jesus is our saviour and our sanctifier and baptizer of the Holy Ghost. Christ has made all provision for us to make at the last days, which is except we repent we shall likewise perish, and believing that He is the only way to salvation, foundation Christ has lay pattern even in marriage that we are to abstain from committing adultery, making it to heaven does not count on the riches of this world or satisfaction.

Christ in making foundation for us to make it to heaven he spoke about hell, and this is the destination of those that do not abide in the Lord, and He spoke about heaven and He said He has gone to prepare a place, for us if it were not so He would have told us. For those that hear the word and believe not he is like a house build upon sand and when the wind come it below it away, and God has lay foundation for us to teach every about the kingdom salvation and sanctification letting them know the danger of sin and it subsequent consequences.

POINT 2: FALSEHOOD AND DANGER OF MORDEN DAYS LIARS

Job 24:2 Zep.3:4 Eze.13:22 Jer.23:13-14 2nd Peter 2:1,15-17 1st Cor.4:2-4 2nd Tim.2:2 Ps.119:9 1st King 22:13

Falsehood are false prophet that change the old land make with their doctrine and turn many into error, this kind of people pollute the church because they are backsliders and the modify the word of God. With lies the make the heart of the righteous to be sad because of the misinterpretation of Gospel and such preacher are not working with God the know how to read the bible and twist it upside down such people are false prophet so therefore flee away from such falsehood, note this the come as good, caring claiming to be full with holy ghost but the Lord is commanding us to watch such people so that we should not go to their lies.

This falsehood teacher have their agendas leading people hell and them will follow them that the deceive to hell as well, this falsehood teachers instead of growing the will be throwing back.

God is warning us not to go into the errors of false teachers, but be steadfast in season and out of season for the foundation has been laid for us to follow, it is require that a man be found faithful, faithfulness in God service is imperative, if we must make to heaven.

GLEANS - THE HIGHER WAY OF THE HEAVENLY CALLING

TOPIC: THE HIGHER WAY OF THE HEAVENLY CALLING
TEXT: Hebrews 3:1- 4; 2 Timothy 4:9; Philippians 3:13 Isaiah 35:8
We have to become children of God before we can be partakers of the heavenly calling. For "if any man be in Christ is a new creature".
Christ has called us with a heavenly calling and this is calling is associated to those that are save and been born again forgiving and save from sin. The higher calling is a heavenly, holy calling leading us to the glorious future, for no lion shall be there or any beast shall go in there to respond to this heavenly calling. But the redeemed shall work therein, those whose sin has been forgiven.
The neglected  the way  Eccl.10:15 Jeremiah 6:16-17 ;44:17;18:7-10 Hosea 8:2-3, 12 Hosea 4:6 Hebrews 4:1;2:1Mat.7:18-23 Luke 13:24-28 2 Tim.4:1-8 Hebrews 11:8 Jer.7:23 Gen.22:18 Exodus 23:22-25 Deuteronomy 13:6-8; 1 Samuel 15:22 Job 36:11 Jer.26:3,13 Acts 5:28-32 Roman 6:16
We are to find the old part and walk therein, not neglecting the word of God but consciously working therein. If we must respond this heavenly calling then we should not but permissive will but the very will of God. Children of Israel forsook the old part and the neglect the right part. They way of Christ is the way of turning away from evil for repentance, if we are going to get to heaven then we are to follow the way of the word.
Many churches today have forsook the old part of preaching repentance and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord, but the delight in preaching miracle preaching and healing but the real thing is strange to them, many people perish today because of lake of knowledge, we are to give proper attention to the word of the Lord we have heard and giving earnest hid to the word of God not letting it slip from us. As we come to this retreat the first thing is salvation, as we hear about the way to heavenly kingdom, our priority as we hear and know about the heavenly calling we should strife by all means to enter through the narrow gate, because the wide gate leads to destruction and eternal condemnation. God love toward human is for everyone to repent and come to the true word of God, for every good tree bringeth fort good fruit and likewise a bad tree bringeth bad fruit, and every tree that bringeth not good fruit shall be cut down. So therefore, we should endeavor to be right with God, and not only professing God with our lips but we should also be ready to do his will. For many will be rejected because the neglect the real thing that is doing the will of God. If you’re a real child of God when you sick you will be healed.
As Job old on to his conviction he receive double portion of what he had lost, we are to strife no matter what may come to enter in the narrow gate which is our eternal abode as Christian.
Many at the last day will be crying gnashing of teeth because the procrastinate their repentance, knowing full well that the Lord will judge every work. Most times rebuke is not convenient, the Word of God say we should be rebuke for time will come when people will not like to hear sound doctrine, we are diligently  watching all things enduring affliction and doing the work of an evangelize until we finish the work and win the prize. As the word of God come we should obey as the only way leading us to that heavenly calling which is righteous, and if only we will obey the Lord he will heal our Land, for obedience to the Word of God is better than sacrifice, for rebellion is as a sin of witchcraft, if we obey God will be renewed but hypocrite in the heart shall not enter into this heavenly calling. We ought to obey God rather than men..For God is greater than anyone so we are to obey God rather than everyone, and anyone that try to exalt himself more than Christ is an Antichrist, for whom we obey we are servant unto. But God will deposit a power to obey his word  grace will be sufficient to us in Jesus Name.

GLEANS - ADVANCING THROUGH ADVERSITY

TOPIC: ADVANCING THROUGH ADVERSITY
Text: Psalms 31:7, 8, 15, 20 – 24; Genesis 37:23 – 28; 39:1 – 4, 7 – 20; Psalms 105:17 – 21; Genesis 45:5 – 8, 26 – 28; Job 1:1, 8 – 12, 20 – 22; 2:1; 17:9; 19:25; 29:14; 31;1; 42:
The end of your tunnel is very near, the end of your darkness is very near.
The brethren of Joseph were after his dreams, the promises if God upon his life. They sold him to Egypt to see what will become of his dreams. “and the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man” even in a strange land. The temptation will come to fall, as it came to Joseph through his master’s wife. Like he overcame so shall we.
There are people in the Bible that lived victorious lives everyday of their lives, like Joseph. That grace is coming upon you.
When Joseph ran away from the temptation of Potiphar’s wife, she concocted a lie and presented it to her husband. As soon as the man heard his wife’s false report, his anger was kindled and he threw Joseph in prison. Everything seems to be going against Joseph, but progress was going to come out of that adversity.
At the appointed time, Joseph was loosed. There is an appointed time for your freedom, and it is now.
Eventually, there was famine in the whole land, and the only place where there was food was where Joseph was ruler. His brethren had to go there to buy food. He made it clear to them that God was the one Who sent them to be a deliverance to them. Every negative thing in your life is turned into positive. The Lord is looking at your future and He is going to promote you beyond your expectations.
There is advance despite the adversity.
We are not saying advance in adversity. No. the characters we are talking about had no problem. Adversity came later, and they went through it. Whatever adversity comes to you, you will go through it and advance in Jesus name!

Throughout the period of adversity, don’t sin against God.
When the adversity increased, Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. What Job was passing through wasn’t the worst that could happen. The worst that can happen is meeting God unprepared.
Eventually, the end of adversity came. Job got double of all he lost.
Double blessing and provision is coming to you life in Jesus name!

Amen!

GLEANS - UNSHAKABLE ASSURANCE OF THE HOPE OF GLORY

TOPIC: UNSHAKABLE ASSURANCE OF THE HOPE OF GLORY

Text: Romans 5:1; 6:4; 8:1, 16; Colossians 1:27, 13 – 14; Romans5:9; 1Peter 1:19, 13 – 19; 1 Corinthians 15:1 – 4; Titus 2:11 -14; John 17:6; Luke 10:20; 1 Thessalonians 1:3 – 6 – 9; psalms 122:1; 1 John 3:19;coloaian2-23; 1 John 3:1

Eternal life will be granted us if we believe on Him who raised up Jesus, if we believe on Jesus as our substitute, saviour, sufficiency. When we believe, we are identified with Christ.

Conversion is a covenant. Christ having paid the price, He brought us out of our degradation unto Himself and we are married to Him in a covenant relationship. We are expected to bring forth fruits. There must be an assurance in us by the Spirit of the Lord that we belong to God and have the hope of seeing Him when we leave this world.

There is neither justification nor forgiveness without the blood of Jesus. There is no acceptance without His blood. He died that we may have life.

You have a part to play in your salvation.

Jesus died for one purpose – for our sins. If we don’t have the freedom from sin, it’s because we have not appropriated what Christ did on Calvary on our lives.

When we are justified, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We no more have to wonder whether we are going to see God or not when we die.

The grace of God has appeared to all men; however, not all accept it.

GLEANS - HOPE FOR DRY BONES

TOPIC: HOPE FOR DRY BONES
TEXT: Ezekiel 37:1 - 11
The condition the nation is now is similar to what the children of Israel were in the text above. Everyone is asking "IS THERE HOPE"? A new experience is coming into everyone's life.
The situation changed from dryness to freshness.
When Ezekiel prophesied, he said, "Hear ye the word of the Lord". As you hear the word of the Lord, your life will change.
God gave him the word and he prophesied as commanded. Ministers of the Gospel must be faithful. Ezek 37:10 “So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.”
When he prophesied, the bones and flesh came together, yet they were lifeless. We are not through until He is through.
Your weakness will vanish away, your problems will evaporate.

POINT 1: HELP FOR HOPELESS SOULS
Job 11:13 – 19; Matthew 15:21- 28; 1 Chronicles 4:9, 10; Acts 27:20
We came to the retreat seeking something. Make up your mind to get something. Do not just be in the spectators’ corner.
There is hope.
God is saying, “You are coming out of darkness”.
There is help for hopeless souls. Before God can do anything for us, we must believe that He will and can do it. God changed the situations of women with children, men with children, young men who called upon Him. It is done as you call on God.

POINT 2: THE HERITAGE OF HUMBLE SONS
2 Chronicles 7:14; 33:12, 13; Micah 6:2 – 8; Luke 15:17 – 24, 7
We are to humble ourselves and not wait until someone does something that humbles us – that is humiliation.
We pray because we are humble. We pray because we cannot help ourselves. Religion, churchianity, profession will not save us. Only God can. If your life must change, you must come to yourself, like the prodigal son did.
Pride will compare one’s morality with another. Do more than intend, act!

POINT 3: THE HEART FOR A HIGHER SUMMIT
Psalms 61:2; 42:1; 62:11; 63:1; Jeremiah 29:11, Hosea 10:12
Our prayer should be "Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I"
The power to change you belongs to God.
